There is no history without pioneers. Nigeria’s chess development is indebted to numerous individuals who contributed significantly before their passing. We believe it’s essential to honor their legacy and celebrate their impact.
This senior citizens’ chess tournament is dedicated to those who paved the way. We invite all Nigerian seniors who share a passion for chess to join us in this tribute. Together, let’s celebrate the fallen legends and create new memories.
Notably, this event is also a Guinness World Record attempt, in collaboration with the World Chess Federation (FIDE), aiming to set a record for the most chess games played in 24 hours.
